Lulu's Cafe

Some of LA's best brunch places are in what Yelp calls "Mid-City West."  While I've tried out top faves, BLD, Blu Jam Cafe, Joan's on Third, Toast, and Taste, there are still many I've yet to try.  Though now, I can cross Lulu's off my list.

French Toast Blitz (full order) - $9.95

Delicious French toast topped with powdered sugar, cream cheese topping, and slices of fresh strawberries and bananas.  Like much, but not love.

Paparazzi Salad (full order) - $11.95
Isn't it amusing that a bed lettuce is often one of the most expensive items on the menu?  But this Paparazzi salad, with a wide array of grilled veggies, pine nuts, and grilled chicken breast and tossed in a house vinegrette may be worth it (maybe).

House Scramble w/ a side of home fries and corn tortilla - $10.95

The quality of Lulu's food is not quite at par with some of its other "Mid-CityWest" competitors, but if you're all about quantity, you may enjoy Lulu's just fine.  The House Scramble has at least three eggs (egg whites), goat cheese, spinach, avocado, mushrooms, and fresh basil.  With the home fries and tortilla, it's a meal for a king... or one hungry girl.

One huge perk for Lulu's is that you don't have to wait in a ridiculous line while your stomach eats itself and can still participate in people-watching while dining al fresco.
