Bludso's BBQ

Four foodie friends decided to check this well-raved about place one bright and sunny summer afternoon. One Texas Sampler later, we waddled out of the hole-in-the-wall joint having some of the best marinated meat in our bulging bellies. General consensus: Best BBQ in LA?* Easy. Bludso's in Compton.

One Texas Sampler is supposed to feed five mouths (or four fatties, er, I mean foodies).  You get a whole bunch of different types and cuts of meat and a choice of 2 large sides, plus cornbread. For $28.50, it is a very good deal.

When you open up your to-go box, you are greeted with these beauties: shiny, glazed BBQ beef ribs. Unfortunately, the sauce was laid down thick, but the meat didn't fall-off-the bone.

Beef Ribs
Underneath the first layer, you find everything else: chicken links, pork links, beef links, pulled pork, rib tips, chicken, and the best of 'em all, the brisket). Man, that brisket. I still dream of it sometimes...

The magic machine
Before you go check this place out, remember to stay level-headed and not give in to all the hype. Compared to Lucille's, Woody's, Phillip's, Woodranch, (sorry, haven't been to Baby Blue's or Mr. Cecil's yet) though, I say Bludso's comes up on top. Have expectations; just don't overdo them.

Now, go eat meat.

*sidenote: Best BBQ in SD? Easy. Phil's.
