Bay Cities Deli

Sorry for being MIA, my dear readers. My appetite and I are now back in full force!

sandwich artists at work

The Godmother (Genoa Salami, Mortadella Coppacola, Ham, Prosciutto, Provolone, w/ "the works," aka - lettuce, tomato, pickles, hot peppers) - small for $6.35; large for $8.40 [large]

Tuna Salad Sandwich w/ lettuce and tomato - small for $6.25; large for $8.00 [large]

Next to Mendocino Farms, Bay Cities is my favorite sandwich shop on the Westside.  Hand down, no contest. Living less than 5 min. away is going to be very dangerous.
After you park your car in their teeny parking lot with ultra narrow spaces (if you are so lucky), you will walk into a store/ bakery where you will be greeted by all sorts of European goodies and treats -- a total sensory overload experience in the best way ever.

While the prices are steeper than your standard 6" at Subway or Quizno's, the quality justifies shelling out a few extra bucks. I will note that the bread is very chewy so if you have weak jaws, you might want to opt for a different sandwich shop. That should not, however, dissuade you from at least checking the place out.

Recommendation for first-timers: The Godmother
