Tahoe Galbi

I tried being a vegetarian once... I lasted five days. By the fifth day, my blood was screaming for meat. Sounds rather barbaric written out, but as a red-meat lover, five meatless days is almost torturous, not to mention, a pretty noteworthy feat. That said, Korean BBQ is of course, one of my favorite meals. Living in LA has spoiled me beyond belief because there are so many delicious KBBQ places around. While Tahoe Galbi is not my ultimate fave (currently it's SooWon), it's a great place for big groups and reasonable prices.

After a full day of manual labor, I brought my roomie here for her first meal back in LA. She loved it.

Salad at an all-you-can-eat (AYCE) BBQ place? Yes. Rice will only fill you up and hamper your carnivorous ways.

One of my favorite things about Korean food is the ban-chan (small side dishes that accompany most meals).

Tahoe has a pretty good selection depending on the meal. For dinner we got: kimchi, marinated seaweed salad, potato salad, zucchini stir-fry, bean sprout salad, white beet salad, mini meat patties, and garlic/ jalapenos and bean paste to sauce up your meat.

Ready for the meat!
