Ortega 120

Ask me what I wanted to eat during my last few weeks in LA and my reply would be one of two answers: Korean or Mexican.  Although both cuisines exist in London, the availability seems to be slim and the quality "meh," at best.  Hungry for tacos (per usual), I found myself at Ortega 120, a great stop for tacos with an interesting and fun atmosphere.  Plus, on Mondays, happy hour is from 4:00 pm - closing.  Ole, may the games begin.

G and I sat at the bar to take advantage of the great HH deals - $5 for a plate of guac; $2 tacos ($2.50 for shrimp or carne asada); and $5 for a pint of some of the best sangria I've had!

House Margarita - $5/ pint and $20/ pitcher

Complimentary chips and salsa
Essentially a Taco Platter (order a la carte during HH - $12; dinner order - $16)

Not all of the tacos meet my East LA $2 taco standards, but the shrimp and the carnitas are noteworthy standouts.

Guac - $5

If I lived closer, I'd probably frequent this place more just for the margs, but now that I'm living REALLY far away, I can only dream about it.  Do me the favor and go make friends with the house or mango margaritas - strong, but will show you a good time.  Hasta luego, baby.
