Syrup Desserts

I don't have a huge sweet tooth, but I do believe a good meal should end on a sweet note.  Hello, Syrup.

I immediately knew I'd like this place as soon as I stepped into this small 2-story shop on Spring Street.

I mean, Nutella and Fluff sitting in the same shelf (sorta)??  Even if it were simply for decorative purposes, I like, I like!  Speaking of decor, I like the simple and random that filled up their walls.

But of course, most intriguing was what filled up our bellies.  Voila the Mixed Berries Liege Waffle, one of Syrup's signature dishes.

Mixed Berries Liege Waffle - $5.75
Topped with fresh cut strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and served with a warm mixed berry compote and a scoop of sweet blackberry jasmine ice cream, this dish will blow your tastebuds away.  And the liege -- a sister to the more familiar Beligan waffle -- was spectacular!  Dense and chewy with a light outer crisp.

In addition to great desserts, teas, Scoops ice cream, they have a bookcase full of boardgames on the 2nd floor.  Nostalgia overload.  My, what a perfect ending to a great night!
