CoffeeBar

Slowly but surely, Downtown LA is getting a face lift, and fortunately for DTLA-ers, it's not a botched up one (at least for now).  Recently, I discovered a handful of gems on Spring Street, namely between 6th and 7th Streets.  For instance, Spring Street Bar, Mediterranean City Grill, and Syrup Desserts, just a stone's throw away from CoffeeBar, appear to be promising places.  And if they're anything like CoffeeBar, they will capture my heart too.

Nestled on the bottom floor of a new downtown loft, CoffeeBar is inviting and peaceful.  While it's not necessarily a place "to see and be seen," the calm atmosphere offers a perfect place for study or quiet people-watching.  Best of all, the price of their coffees are comparable to Starbuck's, but the quality is so much better.  Granted, the menu is limited, but what little they brew, they do brew well.

The interior is a blend of hipster-meets-trendy chic, but is not one bit pretentious.  See for yourself!
