The Langham in Pasadena is a gorgeous hotel. Unsurprisingly, afternoon tea there is an aesthetically pleasing affair.
Since I was with a private party, the catered food was served buffet-style.
My favorites included: cucumber w/ citrus mint cream w/ a slice of heart of palm and grapefruit; smoked salmon profiterole w/ shallot caper cream, dill and lemon zest; sweet shrimp w/ watercress pesto on herb bread; mini strawberry buttercream infused macaroons; creme brulee tarts; and lemon tea biscuit.
The Orchid Oolong tea was refreshing, and I heard the Vanilla Bean was just as delicious.
This is certainly a place reserved for fancy occasions, but if you ever find yourself looking for a place for wonderful afternoon tea or a great Mother's Day Brunch, the Langham is your place.
