Fritto Misto

[ sorry, no visuals ]
Located on the corner of 6th and Colorado in SM, Fritto Misto is a rather unassuming place -- no fancy lighting, no music blaring, no gaudy decor. One thing you will most likely see is a long line of eager eaters, awaiting their seats and delicious meals to follow... but there're lawn chairs for them. (note: they don't take reservations for groups smaller than 6).

Fortunately the wait for my buddies and I was something shy of 15 minutes, which is unheard of. From the minute I put down my name to the moment we left the restaurant, the owner was kind and made us feel right at home. And it didn't feel fake. Win.

I ordered the Mediterranean pasta (sauteed mushrooms, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes & pesto tossed in lemon pepper fettucine - the flavors blended so well), while my friends ordered the Gnocchi Gorgonzola (gnocchi in a gorgonzola and walnut cream sauce - simply heavenly!) and the Artichoke Shrimp Gnocchi (gnocchi stuffed with artichoke/ marscarpone pate, tossed with shrimp in chardonnay lemon sage cream sauce - SO buttery and delicious!) And oh, the portions are so large you can easily share a plate with a friend. Of course, we didn't because we are (or I am a) fatties like that, and we... or I, acknowledge that.
Invite me too when you go. I promise to share. :)
