Sunny Spot is the latest stop in Choi's culinary ride, a place where Jamaica meets Southeast Asia.
T and I decided to check out their happy hour, which is M-F from 5-7 PM.
Happy hour menu |
The happy hour menu is quite good... dare I say, better than the dinner menu.

Beverages |
With our wine, we also got a couple of things off the happy hour menu and the dinner menu.
Yucca Fries - $2 |
With a banana Thai basil ketchup - the subtle, but tangy ketchup had a nice kick. |
Two Fisted Burger - $6 |
With tomato jam, arugula, cheddar, and herb mayo. |
The burger was easily the best part of the entire meal. Perfectly cooked meat paired with a fluffy brioche bun, all of the flavors complimented each other very well.
Roasted Beet Salad with housemade ricotta, rum-spiced honey cashews, pickled strawberries and oranges - $12 |
Brown Sugar Scotch Bonnet Short Ribs - $17 |
I wish I could have liked the short ribs, but it was sub-par at best. The meat was fatty and the glaze was mediocre. This dish was something I could have made (1) better (2) in my kitchen.
Overall, the place has an inviting vibe, especially at night. Everyday's a holiday at Sunny Spot, so kick back, drink up, and relax!
