Spitz {The Not Unhappy Hour}

Street Cart Fries - $4
 Two facts: (1) Commuting to and from DTLA in rush hour sucks... the life out of me. (2) Spitz may have the best dressed up fries in all of LA. (see above).

An order of the highly addictive Street Cart Fries will get you a basket of fries, topped with garlic aioli, fried lavash chips, diced green peppers, red onions, pepperoncinis, feta cheese, kalamata olives, tomato, and a drizzle of spicy sauce. At the rate I was shoveling these bad boys into my mouth, I'm sure I can easily finish off two orders solo, but one order can feed up to 2-3 people depending on hunger levels and if they care to share. But the Street Cart Fries are not the only shining staff off the "Not Unhappy Hour" menu.

Rose & Peach Sangria - $4/ each
Sangria for $4/glass?? Plus, you get a choice of red, white, or rose... or all three. If you're especially thirsty, they sell it by the pitcher too, although not for happy hour prices. I will admit that while the price is great, the sangria was a bit on the weaker side (either too much ice or not enough liquor). Still, nothing to complain about.

Le menu

One dollah can get you many things (have you visited the 99cent store recently?). But crispy pita strips with creamy hummus is probably the best deal for a buckaroo!

Pita Chips w/ hummus - $1

Regular menu items:

Chicken Donor Salad - $8.99

Sweet Potato Fries - $3.99

Chicken Donor Sandwich on Foccacia - $6.49

Spitz may or may not have the best happy hour downtown, but it's definitely a place worth hitting up. If anything, for a basket of Street Cart Fries, mmm.
