Listen up, ya'll. I've got some serious news that involves hunks of meat, a 2-ton Texas burn pit, and a grill-master who goes by the name of Adam Perry Lang. Despite being a proud carnivore, I've never heard of this Adam and the magic he can create on an outdoor grill until a few weeks ago. But boy, am I glad I've seen the light now! I hope you're equally enlightened.
Southern California has some delicious BBQ (i.e. - Bludso's in LA and Phil's in SD), but it's no surprise that the best 'cue joints are found in the "great state of Texas" and other areas of the Deep South. But rather than being geographically limited, classic American barbecue just follows those who know a thing or two about a properly grilled & smoldered piece of meat. Chef Lang, though classically French-trained, won many BBQ contests, helped open the UK's first barbecue steakhouse, Barbecoa in London, and founded the "Best BBQ in NYC," Daisy May's BBQ. Basically, this man knows his barbecue.
Located in the the Jimmy Kimmel Live! Back Lot, Chef Lang's Serious Barbecue pop-up serves lunches every Tues, Wed, and Thurs. Food items range from beef short ribs to pork shoulder and beef brisket, doused by a tangy barbecue sauce, if so desired. (Desire it).

Warning: The meal isn't cheap ($15 and above), but know your funds will benefit two afterschool programs: LACER (providing middle- and high-school student with arts & literacy programs) and PATH (providing homeless folks with the transitional help needed street-living to living in homes). So may your heart, while eating artery-clogging food, be warmed.
